Things I Don't Like to Hear (in Conversation)

1. "I don't mean to be ugly (i.e. mean, cruel, sarcastic) but ..."
2. "I promised I wouldn't tell anyone, but ..."
3. "I'll tell you, but you have to promise not to tell."
4. "They're not our kind."
5. "They're not like us."
6. "We've never done it that way before."
7. "That's stupid." (one step from saying you are)
8. "I'm not lying." (ps - you probably are)
9. "My child never lies." (YES he does)
10. The Lord's name in vain. Ever. (Aloud or in print.)
